Keyword Crash Course May Mid-Month Update

I needed to take a serious break from my linkbuilding efforts and decided to write a quick post for May. I'm on approximately week 12 of promotion and although my eyes start to get fuzzy as soon as I sit down to the computer my Google Adsense account is slowly starting to gain momentum. I'm also noticing that two of the sites I've been concentrating on are slowly starting to climb back up the SERPs. One site I'm working on is #33 for its main keyword and is #3 for a related keyword that according to the Google Keyword tool gets 2,400 searches a month. Not huge but I'll take all the traffic I can get!

Another site I have high expectations for is ranking #13 for its main keyword. Since signing up for the course I've made $99.68 in Adsense. I haven't used any other methods of monetization although if/when my sites reach the top of the SERPs for their main keywords I'll certainly test them out. So far I haven't been successful getting into EPN (I tried applying a few months ago with some of my non-KCC sites) but I'm hoping to get accepted via my main Hubpages account once that gets more established. I think some of my KCC sites would work really well with Ebay. But for now I'm sticking with Adsense.

One thing I also did this month was add Infobarrel to my arsenal of tools. If you haven't heard of Infobarrel you should really check them out. Lissie gives a great explanation over at her blog and compares them to both Squidoo and Hubpages. You can read her detailed review here: What is Infobarrel? Passive Income Reviews

I also learned a few tricks from some of the forum members which I plan to implement soon. If you sign up to the KCC via my affiliate link you can get the full scoop by reading my bonus guide. Until next time--happy link building!

Earned My First $100 for Adsense

I've been so busy building backlinks for my websites that I didn't notice the other day that I made my first $100 for Adsense! A lot of marketers will tell you that your first $100 in Adsense is the hardest to earn and I hope they're right!

This is probably pretty embarrassing to share--but I hope it emphasizes how much I value the Keyword Crash Course and everything I've learned from Mark and Court so far. You should know that I signed up for my Google Adsense account in August 2007. Before starting Mark and Court's course (in February 2009) I had approximately $27 accumulated in my account from numerous BC websites I had built (BC = before Court).

I made more than that in March 2009 alone! So--in 30 days I made more than I had the past two years. Yikes! Anyway, Google doesn't send you a check for your Adsense earnings until you reach the $100 mark so that was definitely a big milestone for me. Hopefully I won't have to wait another 2 years for my second hundred dollars! :-)
